Is the .32 S&W long I use in my Model 31 the same cartridge used in the 1905 Winchester semi-aute rifle?

First off, we should try to help the OP. Give them something more than 4 words.

Also, I have no idea what a 32 SL is, but the 32 caliber used in the K frame M&Ps was an old rifle cartridge originated in a Winchester lever-gun. It was called 32 Winchester back then and S&W started using that name with the Model 1899.

32-20 Stampings
From 1899 until 1913 - 32 Winchester CTG.
From 1914 until 1922 - 32 W.C.F. CTG
From about 1922-23 until the end of production (1929) - 32-20 CTG.

I answered the person's question. Why are you calling me out? The person obviously has internet access.

By the way, you aren't answering the poster either by bring up yet another cartridge. The .32 Self Loading and the 32-20 aren't the same either. The .32 Self Loading is an obsolete round for the model 1905 Self Loading rifle.

Hopefully this photo will help.

The empty case on the far left is a US .30 carbine. The cartridge to right of it is a .32 WSL. The remaining four cartridges are .35 WSL.

For reference purposes, here is a .32 S&W long case next to a US .30 carbine case.
