Why would someone buy the 325 instead of the 625? The 325 is lighter (at 31 ounces) and costs $200 more. I guess it would be better for concealed carry, but then no N-frame with a 4" barrel is really suited for concealment, so that seems unlikely. So I'm stumped.

Its not as easy to mount a weapon light on a 625. To me, that is the biggest selling point of the TRRs and depending on what the intended purpose, 11 oz could make a world of difference.

If weight didn't matter, S&W would probably still be producing the 3rd gen. pistols.

Dismissing an N frame as a concealed carry gun may be a mistake. A lighter gun would certainly be more "carriable" IMHO

I carry a mod 25 mountain gun... Its doable.

I'd buy the 325 to "carry a lot, shoot a little", and the 625 to "shoot a lot, carry a little".

I'm not a big fan of alloy revolvers, especially a design that implements a "blast shield" above the forcing cone to prevent erosion from a low pressure round like the 45ACP. That feature alone raises a red flag in my mind about the 325 design.

Because the TR 325 is a Performance Center tuned revolver that combines lighter alloy weight with large caliber capacity.

Not too difficult to understand the advantages of such a package for CCW or competitive shooting.
