Just picked up a PC 327 TRR 8 shot for the wife. For a night stand gun for when I'm not home. Installed the crimson trace grips from a 629 of mine. Well you all know what happened the laser is blocked by the Streamlight TLR-1. So what setup are you guys using?? Would be nice if the light set back a little closer so it could be used with the trigger finger.

They make picitinny rail offset adapters that would move the streamlight off to the side a bit. I went with the light and a red dot on my R8 so the offset wasn't needed.

Groo here
Look at the Olight pl-1.
I got one and they are narrow.
PS O light is in the process of updating the light, wait a month or so.
PPS the O light has a 2 lm nave light {blue] and a 400lm white light.
The old Maglites were 30-40 lm , so this is like TEN of them,
and it takes 1 CR123 , not those hard to find cells.

Why not just get a laser light combo? I have a TRL4 on a rail and it works great.

Because your index finger will be 3 inches away from toggle switches. Pointless

and don't mount that top rail either! Scratches the top barrel shroud bad. I shoot my R8. No home defense.

if you notice how close your index is to actuate the toggles your hand doesn't have to change positions or you dont have to use your left (if right handed). This is THE night gun. Extremely bright night sights. Recon light. And laser all in one package. Double stack too.

IMO bottom rail seems a little pointless. I got my R8 for the weight and capacities. And i shoot it alot.

I'd love to get a set up to put the light down by the yolk. Like in the first picture. Just like with an semi auto. So the light can easily be used with the toggle switch, on and off as it should be. Hopefully so flame cutting isn't an issue by having your hand and fingers in front of the cylinder when firing.

The whole reason to purchase this style revolver was to have the capability like a semi auto but with the simplicity of the wheel gun. The misses just doesn't get the semi auto thing. In a PANIC situation "I" would prefer her to be able to just pull the trigger. Not having to worry about if there is a round in the chamber, mag fell out, safety on or off, failure to feed or a jam etc.

I've been all over the web and can't find a thing. Which at this point leaves me 2 choices. Take the gun back for something else, but what?? Make my own mount or adapter bolting into the 3 under barrel holes down and back so the light will be where I want it. Only problem is leaving enough room for the cylinder to swing out for reloading. Yet still clear the laser.

Why the heck would S&W make such a great weapon but not have this problem solved?? Thanks for the help.

Exactly. If they had an adapter to make it closer like i put in orange-closer to the index, it would be alot useful. AND the lense on the light wouldn't get the flame blast from the front....

I wasn't knocking the gun or the platform. Its a great gun. Just stating facts. Finger doesn't reach light. uploadfromtaptalk1466720475602.jpg

Well I hate to give up but she's going back. Very disappointed, not really the guns fault in anyway just my expectations.

You could try a rail riser to drop the light lower, then maybe hack some off the base to make it L shaped to hug the ejector shroud.

I finally got the Magpul light rails. Really cool option for mounting lights and lasers. But they don't work for the TRR. Left side interferes with the cylinder. Right side would work and clear the laser but it throws the pistol way off balance. Just hanging way off to one side.

So I took the pistol back new unfired. Not sure what the plan will be next?? Thanks all for the help and replies.
