342 PD Pre Lock...Need Advice

Dear Folks:

I have a S & W 342 PD (+P) "pre-lock" revolver that I want to sell. (Getting a Kahr w/more capacity). The gun is in excellent condition w/box and papers.
What is this firearm worth in today's marketplace. Is it best to try to sell it on this board or through a broker. (I am in Michigan).

Gunbroker.com is an excellent source for up to the minute gun prices. Just search completed auctions. One sold on 5/6 for $715, and another sold on 5/4 for $700 with Crimson Trace laser grips.

I sold one a while back for right around $700 if I remember correctly.
I'd list it for sale here and ship it FFL to FFL.
If you sell it through a 3rd party you will end up paying a commisssion.
Just my 2 cents.

Reality price would be between $500-$575 if NIB. If it has be shot or carried ..$400-$475. You will never get $700 for it here....
