Yesterday took out to the range my long neglected 686-6 Plus 4" barrel. Purchased it new 05/2017 and I bet I've only fired it once or twice since. About that same time I found at a steal Federal 180gr JHP (C357G) and bought 25 20rd boxes (I wouldn't do it at today's prices) and have never test fired them.
So in 26 degree windy temperatures off to the range I went. I only fired it at 25yds on steel plates due to didn't feel like messing with paper targets. Amazing I never missed a plate in SA mode. Threw a couple in DA. What really surprised me was how well this revolver handled these stout loads, or maybe I thought they'd be more punishing on recoil. Really in a way mild recoil. They should make a nice out in the woods companion or even defense loads if needed.
