What exactly is .357 auto? I was on the Smith and Wesson site and saw .357 auto as a caliber category.

Smith & Wesson

What is the difference between .357 auto and .357sig?

I'm pretty sure this is just the 357 SIG and S&W doesn't want to use the word "SIG" on their web site. So far as I know there is no "357 AUTO" just the 357 SIG.

It is strange, and they even have two SKUs, but I still think that there is only a 357 SIG.

You might give them a call tomorrow, they are very helpful over the phone.

Chad: Coonan produced an actual 1911 style autoloader pistol in .357 mag. It had feeding problems as their magazines were a little iffy. The grip was very deep to accommodate the length of the .357 and a lot of people just couldn't grip it properly. While it was a quality built gun, it quickly went the way of the dinosaurs. ......
