At this point in time, the SN should have been stamped into the wood, not written in pencil.

If I bought the gun with them on, I would leave them on, but thats because I don't care for Magnas. But, I don't know that "cokes" existed in 1954, since they were made for the .44 Magnum that hardly shipped before 1956.
