IMO,
The pre-lock .357 Model 60's are more difficult to find. There weren't many years between going to the .357 and adding the internal lock.

If this is important to you, the gun is probably worth it. If not, I think you can find a used M60 for less.

r1w, here' a 60-9 that I bought late in 2005 and I gave just under $400 for it. With the way S&W's are going up, your price isn't all that bad, I guess it's just up to you if you want one. Mine moved around; first to my son, then my wife, then my son again and now it's back in my hands! I like it and even with .357 rounds, the recoil is VERY manageable, at least for me.

Offer'm $400 OTD and see if they'll take it!! Dicker with them. No where does it say you have to pay the asking price. And then buy it. I'd say $439 is reasonable. Good used Smith's are getting higher and higher.

I think if the Mod 60 your lookin' at is in good condition then $439 is a good deal.
And the idea of shooting an out-the-door price of $400 is a good one.

Blackcloud2 that Mod 60 is all business.
Looks like the difference between a Mod 60-9 vs a -10 is adj sights and bbl length.
