I shot these with my 4.25"-barreled M&P40 with S&W 357SIG barrel, into a series of one-gallon water/milk jugs, from ten feet distance.. On the front of the first jug, I taped my simulation of the FBI's 'thick clothing'--denim front and back with two layers of terrytowel in between.. I know that three shots are a small sample, but the results of the three are virtually identical, so I quit.
Bullet 1 entered the 4th jug but didn't reach its back wall; I'll call that 20" of penetration*. Bullets 2 and 3 each passed thru jug 3 but didn't crack front wall of jug 4; I'll call that 19" of penetration. Minimum weight among the three is c. 121g. which indicates essentially no weight loss.
I'm thrilled with this performance--I've seen many name-brand HP bullets expand not at all after passing thru my thick-clothing tests--and will buy more of these.
My friend, who has assisted me during my last-several expansion tests, said 'WOW--that was no 9mm' after the first shot. The first and 2nd jugs of each shot simply blew up significantly more violently than with any other tested in my memory.
* Each jug is 6" front-to-back, so a bullet entering the 4th jug has achieved more than 18" penetration. And yes, I understand that water is neither ballistic jell nor muscle tissue, but my tests done over about 20 years have produced what appears to me to be consistent results.
