Well, like the title says. Is it possible to shoot the 357 sig through the sigma like its big brother M&P?

they actually made a few .357 sig sigma's. If you can find the barrel for the .40 you are good to go. There was a guy on here who machined one from a 9mm barrel but I never saw the results

Thanks for the snappy responses! I am still pretty new to this owning a pistol thing. I own the 40 so is this good news for me? Is it cheaper to shoot this round? Or is it just an option? Thanks again for any help

Try dragon fire I believe they make dropin barrels I'm gonna get one for sig p229 to convert it to .400 corbon you might check it out.

AFAIK, all the aftermarket manufacturers have dropped the Sigma conversion barrels from production. You might find a leftover in some shop, but don't count on manufacturer's support.

Well what about power? Better round as far as the punch it packs?

it is a hot little round but from what I've read it's about like a 9mm +p+

The 357sig is closer to a 357mag than a 9mm in terms of energy.

A quick check at Georgia Arms website (which I had open already) shows the following in their "new" ammo line.

.357 SIG 125gr Speer Bonded Unicore Hollow Point
Manufacturer Part No: MFG-562E19
Velocity: 1400 FPS

.357 Mag 125gr Speer Bonded Unicore Hollow Point
Manufacturer Part No: MFG-562E19
Velocity: 1400 FPS

9MM Luger 124gr Speer Bonded Unicore Hollow Point +P
Manufacturer Part No: MFG-562E19
Velocity: 1200 FPS

After many years and many millions of dollars extorted from US Taxpayers expended, the FBI determined the best "man stopper" round of all was the 125 gr .357 Magnum hollow point.
They then bought the .40 Smith & Wesson, in Glock and SIG. SIG took the test results and necked a .40 S&W case down to .355 inches, loaded it with a 125gr HP bullet and called the result the SIG 357 (TM) Note: No decimal in the name, despite everyone who posts sticking the "." in every now and again.
Geoff
Who at least knows the money was not spent without some kind of result. Sigh.

Awesome info, thanks to everyone who has shined some light on this for me!
