Has any one used/installed a 5 inch barrel 357 Sig in a M&P pro or FS 40 S&W? I have only seen threads where they talk about the 4.25 inch M&Ps. :) Thank you.

Thanks. I've saved the link. Storm Lake also makes a 5 inch 357Sig barrel for the M&P. It's a toy to buy for the M&P 40 Pro. :)

Yes, I built one up several months ago, this was my description at the time:

"I just completed a 357 SIG conversion of a 40/Pro 5", using a KKM barrel (blackened with Epi Insta-Blak SS-370 Black Stainless Steel GEL). The "Match" chamber barrel makers are so fond of is OK if you use only factory ammo or new brass, and have no other 357 SIGs to mix brass with for reloading. But I found that to use brass that had been fired in S&W 357 chambers I needed to open up the chamber with a Manson Chamber Finishing Reamer (headspace left unchanged). This is even after full length case resizing in a Dillon Carbide die. Brass once fired in Glock 357 barrels I find un-usable in other chambers until it is also put thru a 40 S&W push-thru carbide base resizer -- the bases expand below the point where the "full length" dies stop due to lack of base support in the Glock barrels, and are visibly bulged on one side of the base.

The project was completed with the addition of the Apex DCAEK and RAM, TruGlo Green/Yellow sights, and Crimson Trace LaserGrips.

The slide had the common problem of being difficult to release because of a slight groove in the middle of the slide stop cut, but that was readily fixed with a small diamond file.

The pistol will be used primarily of IDPA-type shooting, including low light. I got tired of waiting for S&W to do a 5" 357 M&P."

Thanks K2ue. That's what I need. :) Course telling me I will have to file on my baby isn't good. :( When I get around to getting a 357sig barrel I will post the results on this thread. :)

BTW, I use it for USPSA shooting. :D
