I'm buying a 627PC. Which round & grain would you recommend for this weapon. Best for target shooting & then which one for defense. Thanks!! in advance.

For close range target work, 38 Spl 148 gr. wadcutters are hard to beat. For longer range target work, I use 158 semi wadcutters.

For defense, I think the 125 gr. JHP .357 has the best record of one-shot stops over practically anything else.

Looks good.
The only thing I can add is that picking one bullet weight and staying with it will eliminate re-adjusting the sights when switching loads. Light bullets hit lower.

I was thinking the same thing as OKFC05.

130 gr. FMJ cheapies, such as Federal American Eagle, ought to hit very close to the same point of impact as 125 gr. .357 JHPs. While not target ammo (130 gr. FMJ), such fodder is fine for practice and plinking.
