SW experts,
I have a chance to buy a real nice 6 1/2 inch Gun.Excellent diamond target grips that serial number to gun.6 1/2 inch barrel.Can i ask when this gun was made??
Also,what is a good fair price for a 98% gun with matching number diamond target grips,all correct sights,etc.??

OP, you say correct sights, etc. is the revolver a 38/44 Heavy Duty (fixed sight) or 38/44 Outdoorsman (adjustable target sights)? Makes a difference in price.
You mentioned numbers matching target stocks so I assume that it’s the Outdoorsman. My mistake.

A little help here.

Excellent diamond target grips that serial number to gun.

It was my understand that only the Service and Magna style stocks were matched to the revolver by serial number. Am I wrong in this?

Not sure of the OP’s expertise, but just know that the gun would be a short action or pre-model # gun. And there is a history of serial number marked targets for 1950’s guns, mostly non-relieved and often not matching the gun they were on (read about 44 mag frames being repurposed from 1955 frames). And ‘’52 would be early for targets but possible.
