380 EZ that doesn't like JHP

A little update. I finally got a chance to test out the Wolff springs in the two problem mags. With about a hundred rounds between the two they functioned perfectly. I did a lot of reload type drills where each magazine had only two rounds. I was trying to see how they'd feed with the lightest spring pressure and if I could create the stovepipe issue some people have had with their EZ. I couldn't make a malfunction. The magazines are a bit stiff inserting full into a closed gun, but I'll take that for reliability. No spring binding in those two mags with the Wolff springs, so it was definitely some bad magazine springs from S&W in an otherwise nice gun.

It’s pretty common for semi automatic handguns to be pretty sensitive about what ammo you use in them.

As a general rule, they all work best with ball ammo. Making them work with ammo that’s not ball can be tricky.

As a practical matter, I’m not convinced that the expanding ammo made for the 380 or 32 caliber is worth the candle. Given the choice, I’d rather have the penetration of ball ammo than have the hollow point (maybe it’ll expand, maybe it won’t) ammo.

Remember, shot placement is King. The best expanding ammo won’t turn a miss into a scoring shot.
