I recently purchased a 380 EZ. I have large hands and when I disengage the grip safety I have difficulty reaching a trigger without having too much finger on the trigger. Is there an extended grip safety available for this particular gun?

Thank you

Unfortunately not that I know of; I have the same problem. I think S&W's Performance Center has one with a larger "bump". What I need is a safety that extends up towards the beavertail of the frame like the old FN .32's and .380's.

There are quite a few posts about this on this forum if you feel like searching.

I suspect that the grip safety can easily be disabled.

That may seem extreme, but it's a pretty common practice for me in 1911's with a beaver tail safety: I grip high with my thumb on the thumb safety. That can exert upward pressure on the grip safety that engages it and prevents the gun from firing.

Ergo, I disable the grip safety.

There was a company that made taller and lower size grip safeties for that gun. You might want to do a Google search. I don't remember the name, but it was about 6 months ago. Good luck!
I have the 9mmEZ and it took me a while to get used to it.

My mom and dad (both well past their 20's) independently bought EZ pistols and have had issues with the grip safety. My advice was to use a rubber inner tube to squeeze it shut, but you have to release it to reassemble the pistol, so I didn't suggest drilling and pinning it.

There's probably a way to remove parts internally, but we didn't want to do that.

If you have the EZ model without the thumb safety, the grip safety is the only real safety. Bypass it and you are carrying a single action pistol that is cocked and ready to rock. Not me.
