I did some research and found that they are pretty much the same thing, except for the 12+1 capacity of the 6906/669, which of course makes the grip bulkier. The 3913/908 is sleeker.

Same overall dimensions, except for the wider grip, same barrel length and only an ounce more of empty weight for the 6906/669.

Adds to the selection confusion for quite a few people.
Just my musings on those two fine families of compact 9mm's.
I personally side with the higher capacity, since both fit my hand well.
I figure you can't too pretty, too rich or have too much ammo when the bullets start flying. :D

I like them equally well. I have two of each along with several more 3rd gens.

I'm like Ladder13, I have both but prefer the 3913. Slides and barrels are physically the same. I only wish there were some good grips on the market for the 6906 other than the Hogues with the finger groove. The 6906 in hand feels the same as my 4013TSW.

I wanna get a 3919/908 now. :D
I have the Pachmayr's on my 469, I like the feel of the Pach Signatures over Hogues. Nothing against the Hogue grip, just a preference.

I have had both. Great guns. I sold my 6906 and of course have regrets. I love these third generation guns.

Oh yes, the regrets... I have sold so many guns I wish I had now, but they financed the ones I have now.

Smith autos have become my current obsession. :D

3913 vs 6906

Indeed they are, as are most of the 3rd Generation Smiths. I own both & wouldn't part with either one, although I do prefer the fuller grip of the 6906. It's a perfect fit for me.

+1 on the grip. I have a 6904 and a 3914, the blued version of the stainless models. Both are fantastic guns, but when it comes to shooting, I prefer the feel and control of the wider grip.

I too prefer the blued models of most guns.
That's why I was happy to find a 469, well the frame is aluminum, but hey the top is the right color. :D
Also why I want a 908, blued or blackened guns appeal most to me.
Of course I love nickel too. Decisions, decisions.

Now to get my 1076 blued... hmmmmmmmm

Love my 6906, would love to get a 3913, bet id like it just as much if not more. If only the funds wore there.

Just received my (new to me) 6906, from Bud's, for $339. These are going right now at Robertson's for $369 (former California law enforcement versions).

Serial number on mine is TEC-XXX. The slide is moderately scratched and holster-worn. Thinking of sending it to Springfield, MA for a refinishing of the frosted stainless finish.

The grip is a bit fatter than my Sig P-6 (a comparable pistol in size and cost -- albeit a single-stack with less magazine capacity -- perhaps more equivalent to the 3913) but the reach to the trigger face is shorter on the 6906, so it is not uncomfortable.

It is starting to grow on me. The test, of course, is shooting it. If it handles nicely at the range, it may have found a permanent home.
