Hello all -- first post on the S&W forums here.

My current carry pistol is a Kahr K9. It's a fine pistol, excellent quality, absolutely none of the reliability issues oftened mentioned with Kahr. The size is nearly perfect, with one caveat -- the weight. It's a suprisingly heavy pistol for the size, and I'd like to move to a lighter carry pistol.

The obvious choice, since I like the K9, would be to get a P9 or PM9. But I keep hearing wondering things about the 3913 pistols, and I'm curious if anyone has direct experience with the 3913 and also the Kahr line.

Is the 3913 (in particular the 3913LS) any lighter than the K9? How does the width compare? Any thoughts would be appreciated, pics doubly so.

I had both a 3953 and Kahr CW9 at the same time. They were pretty close to the same width (with a 3913 you will have the additional width of the safeties). Weight-wise the Kahr is a little lighter. The 3953 was a little longer and a little taller.

Hope this helps!

If you Google "Kahr K9 weight", you will find out that the Kahr K9 weighs 25 oz.

If you Google "3913LS weight", you will find out that the 3913LS weighs 26 oz.

Welcome to the forum. The LS version of the 3913 has the safety on one side only, hope this helps.
