The 3914 has a "hidden" hammer to aid when carrying . Are their any hammers that you can replace them with that still allow you to pull the hammer back but don't stick out as much as the larger hammers?? Also Where on the internet can you get 3rd gen parts other than the obvious Brownells and Midway. Thanks Guys!

Any third gen 9mm DA "spur" hammer will work, though the bobbed hammer is designed so you can stage it with the trigger just enough to allow it to be fully cocked by grabbing the serrations on the top of the hammer with your thumb and completely cocking it fully.....just some practice to get the feel for it, otherwise you may consider modifying a spur hammer into a "semi bobbed", I have seen this done, you can probably find an example on this forum....

The 2nd Gen 469s had a half(Third?) cock notch and serrations on top of the spurless hammer. The hammer can be raised to this notch using the double action trigger, then cocked the rest of the way using the serrations. I upgraded three 6906s. parts were from Numrich.

There was afactory recall on the second gen 69 series because they would not decock from the half cocked position, two of mine are like that, they will only decock from the fully cocked position, that's why I suggested the third gen hammer, they still have the serrations on top, but no half cock or semi-staged position.....

I should have said some of the second gen series, not all, it was corrected soon after they were released....
