When did S&W stop production of the 3rd generation 3953 TSW auto's????

I have a 3953 TSW that I bought used. If I remember right the empty shell that came with it was dated 9/?/2006. The Serial # is BDX1***. Would that mean it was made on that date???????????

It may very well have been made in 2006. Some 3rd gen. pistols are still being produced and the source I used (Smith & Wesson standard catalog 2nd edition) has a 2001 copyright.

My 3rd edition of the SCSW has a copyright date of 2006 and lists the 3953 as still in production.
