Although I'm not a whole lot for cheesy movies, the wife and I were watching 22 Jump Street and lo and behold, the 3rd Gen Smith makes a few appearances front and center in the movie. I was quite surprised; you don't see these on TV or the big screen these days! Just thought I'd let ya'll know.....I'm not yet an expert, but I believe it was the 5906.
And wouldn't ya know it, they still look really good on TV! lol

And even better in real life. Gotta love those 3rd gens.

Yes sir! I used to find the 1911 as the most attractive pistol out there. But S&W really made what I consider the closest thing to perfection in the 3rd gens....a gun for every role and built for abuse. I cannot believe that they didn't and are not catching on more than they have. I could look at them all day long. I've never been obsessed with obtaining a matching/related collection until now. I have a hunch though that they may see a resurgence in Hollywood though...

When you say not catching on have you priced them lately?

LOL oh believe me I've seen the costs racing upwards lately. I think folks are seeing the value of having an all metal pistol and utter reliability over a pistol that may be reliable but more tacticool than anything else. I'm just glad I could grab a few before they really go through the roof! Bad thing is, I ain't done yet! lol
