4 Screw .44 Magnum 4 Inch "Birthday Gun"

I have several birth year Chiefs because 1952 was a prolific year
for them -- think rabbits, but you know what Noah said: "Only 2."

My birth month Chiefs Special left the factory on June 12, 1952,
and I came at 5 a.m. on Friday the 27th.

I have an invoice for 12 Chiefs that shipped to LAPD on my
birthday. Wouldn't I like to find one or some of them. Check out
the serial number spread!

I have a shooter K-38 Combat Masterpiece, same year and month. Didn't realize it until I recorded information for records.

My prize is a same year only K-22 Masterpiece Pre Model 17, 99%+ with correct box and grips numbered, and all the trimmings. My Mother gave me a little money and told me to buy something nice for myself. The rest went to paying bills. She left us a year or two later, making it even more important to me.

I have a post-war Heavy Duty with 6-1/2" barrel that shipped on Oct 4, 1957. That's about 2-1/2 weeks off of my actual birth date, so close enough. I got it via GunBroker from a shop in Spokane, WA. back in 2012. It looks like it probably went to the Washington State Patrol as the backstrap has been ground, as so many were when sold to the public.

I'd had the GunBroker listing bookmarked but had neglected to put in a bid. It had a starting bid of $650 and a BuyItNow price of $750 and expired with no bids. When I realized that I had missed it I looked up the shop and called them up.

I explained that I was interested in the gun and since it wasn't listed any more, could they just go ahead and sell it to me? I said, "The starting bid was $650...." and waited. The guy on the phone hesitated for a moment and then said, "Yeah, we can sell it to you for that." No doubt if I had been there in person with cash I could have had it for less. But, not a bad deal anyway.

Here's my birthday gun and yes, I am a lot older than the gun unfortunately
But it is my exact birthday and the present is that it is one of the rarest of all model 29 and I do realize the model 29–7 is unknown to most people, but it is also the stainless steel cylinder version which is even more rare
And yes, I would rather have my birthday be a 29-1, but Life ain't all bad this way
