So I bought a 4013 last summer to eventually convert to 10mm. It came with 3 mags, 2 of which had the AccuGuide stamp. A few months later, dad scored another 9 mags for it, and 2 of them also had the AccuGuide stamp.

I haven't noticed any difference between the 2 different types other than the stamp and the additional indentation below the feed lips on the AccuGuides. All are S&W factory mags and all function fine.

I'm only gonna covert 5-6 to 10MM and will probably sell the rest to help fund the conversion. Is there any major difference between the two and is there any reason to favor one over the other? Any info you guys could give me on these mags will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Both styles of 4013 mags, the AccuGuide is the mag on the right:

Of the 14 4013 mags I have,2 of them don't have the indentations and one of those two has the accuguide stamp.
If I remember correctly from the conversion threads on this site, those indentations have to be removed/minimized as they interfere with the 10mm white follower.

oldman10mm is correct. The mag shown on the left is the best 4013 mag for the conversion. By the way, I drilled out the indents on my first conversion and that left burrs difficult to remove with a file. Now I use an 1/8" wide grinding wheel and that leaves a very light burr.

The guy that did my conversion left the indentions and did some filing on the followers so they wouldn't hit the indentions. I've got about 300 rounds through it with zero malfunctions.

Wow, that was a great idea! It took me longer to convert a mag than it took to ream the barrel.

I'd like to see a picture of the follower modification if you don't mind.
