I recently mounted the Holosun 407K on a Shield plus using a C & H adapter plate. The adapter plate fit well and is pretty thin. Using my cheapo calipers I believe it's just over 1mm thick. The screw holes were just slightly off center, but that was me being picky. There is a little play in the optic...it is slightly shorter than the cut in the slide, so it can move front to back until it's tightened. I mention this because the only thing holding the optic down are the two screws. The lugs on the slide are also about 1 mm so the plate takes up the lugs. Not sure why I was thinking the optic would still have some lugs to help secure it, but it doesn't. You can still co-witness, though you can barely see the front sight. I should have shut the optic off and checked on just using iron sights, next range visit. I used the C&H screws over the Holosun screws, because they were a little longer and I figured they made the plate for this gun and the optic, so they know what size is best. I believe I torqued down to 15"pds. I had no problem zeroing it out.

BTW it fits perfect in a Crossbreed Reckoning holster. It would not fit in my Alien Gear for a Shield 2.0 that I slightly modified to fit a different optic. The Shield plus optic sits much further forward on the slide.

Hope this helps somebody considering this combination.

I have been thinking of buying a Shield Plus and putting an optic on it just to have a "optics pistol" to instruct with if needed. I really don't see the need for a MRDS on most pistols for self defense but it seems to be the way the world is going. I am a fan of the MRDS's that have a rear sight notch built into the sight housing.

Basically have the same setup, but had the slide milled for a direct fit - no adapter plate.

. . . There is a little play in the optic...it is slightly shorter than the cut in the slide, so it can move front to back until it's tightened. I mention this because the only thing holding the optic down are the two screws . . .

I recently put a 407k (6 MOA green dot) on an M&P M2.0 Compact using a C&H adapter plate and noticed the same little bit of fore and aft play. So what I did is apply a little rosin to the flat contact surfaces the same way I do to 'scope rings on a rifle or pistol. Rosin greatly increases the sliding friction between well-matched contact surfaces and helps to lock them together, but there's no real adhesive bond so you can always take them apart easily. I dissolve the rosin in 99% isopropanol and lightly "paint" the surfaces with this solution using a Q-tip. The iso evaporates leaving a very, very thin layer of rosin, which is all you need.

I've never had a 'scope slip in the rings using this method, so I figure it won't hurt on a red dot sight.

Oh, and the M&P M2.0 Compact has suppressor height sights, so it co-witnesses with the 407k in the lower part of the window just fine - the white dot on the front sight is not obscured at all.
