Good Day Ladies and Gents,

I have a shoot this weekend and need to do some reloads.
i was given a box of 180gr CMJ's, bottle of MS200, and PMP Primers

I loaded not so long ago at 5g and found it very snappy for competition, any ideas on a better comp load?

thank you in advanced for all you assistance!

Welcome.

I do not know anything about your powders but from their website the MS200 is a "extremely" fast burning powder

You are within the load data.

I myself do not like very fast powders in the 40SW and would use the slower burning MP200

But that said I have nothing to compare the burn rate of your powders to those found here.

Does anyone have a problem with their sd40ve jamming? I've run about 50 rounds through it. Do I just need to shoot it more to break it in or is this a problem with it. Been shooting 180 grain and 165 grain ammo through it. Both jam.

we don't have access to the powders you have listed , here in the states . It was just about a yr or so ago that we finally got powder from the Czech Republic and France .
A lighter bullet (165gr.) would help lessen the recoil . Sorry I couldn't be of more help . Best of Luck to ya !

What type of jam? Failure to feed, extract, chamber?
Each has potential causes. Most often in other pistols/loads when I get multi-load fail issues, it often is my own out-of-spec ammo at the base of the problem.

Are you using factory ammo that is jamming? There's a host of potential causes, but less numerous although similar to home reload failures.

Sometimes a dirty chamber is the culprit.

Can you find ONE load that works well for 50-100 rounds?

@Rule3 and @cowboy4evr thank you very much for your responses.

it is a powder that we get in SA, there are a lot of powders that you guys rate that I wish I could get!! I am loading at 4.8g and shooting this Saturday, will let you guys know how it runs!

You are very welcome. Nice to see folks from other Counties.

Just my opinion but whatever load you use, I found the Glock 23, 40SW to be a very "snappy" gun. Had one for a while and ended up selling it. I just do not think the bullet and/or powder will make a great difference.

There is the whole debate on fast vs slow powders and bullet weights. You just need to find something that is most comfortable for you. :)
