41 barell

WHat do You have to file to fit a new barrel in model 41. ( Its a little too tight to lock compare to the orginal.

Not trying to be flip but if you need to ask, it's probably a job for a professional or S&W. An "oops" on a M41 barrel is an expensive mistake I would think.

I sent a barrel into S&W for fitting, and they removed the stock between the frame and barrel, the two lands it sits on.
If you remove too much it's junk.

Now, it locks fine , but a little tight to close. If it functions well , will it hurt to use it?

If it locks ok and shoots ok, it's not broken so don't try to fix it. If you have a functional or accuracy problem, that's a different story.
