.41SPL loaded ammo available

Reed Ammunition & Research, Oklahoma City, They have expanded their web-site, and it now lists their .41spl, as well as other custom loaded ammo. Someone mentioned they were loading it, on this forum. They contacted me about some brass, and I guess they have been loading it for some time, in cut down .41mag cases. They seem to be committed to the caliber. I find that very encouraging.

I sure hope your right. I have played with the 41 special, off and on over the years, using cut down 41 mag brass until I decided to order some 41 special brass from dixie.

I was never really impressed enuf to mess with it until I started using W231 powder. Now that 231 and the 41 special brass were made for each other, along with the 210 JSP and 215gr SWC.

Now a commercial loading? OK, Smith. Time for a pistol chambered for the 41 special

The .41 Special is still officially a wildcat and not a SAAMI certified round. An ammo company would need to set pressure levels and then use .41 Special headstamped brass. I'll bet it's an expensive process.

Since it uses cut down .41 Mag brass , ya still won't be able to use it on many indoor ranges that forbid magnum ammo/headstamped rounds.

They are using .41spl brass they got from me. Their ammo says .41spl. You have made an assumption. Yes Sebago Son I have a 686 3in Clements conversion, and 2 Sigs has a 6in.

I have purchased 0.41 special cases from Reeds originally and then from Dixie. My range safety officer just approved 0.41 Special (with the correct headstamp) for use indoors where no magnum rounds are permitted. Excellent cartridge and I thoroughly recommend both Reeds and Dixie. Dave_n

Will they sell 41 special to an individual? I would like to purchase some to try out in my model 57. Thanks

Has anyone used their ammunition in any other caliber? They have some interesting loads. I'm just curious about their quality.

Just sent in my money order for 1 box of each type, I will do a range test as soon as I get it and let you guys know

I hope you do post your results. I have been pushing the high end of John Taffin's data in my 686, and am very impressed with the way my little gun is handling the hotter loads.

I have sold all of the .41spl brass I have available. If anyone wants .41spl brass or loaded ammo, I suggest you get in touch with Reed's. Superman, on this forum also purchased a large quantity of .41spl brass from me, and he might have some available.

imjin, I am using the 41 special brass, loaded with the 210gr JSP and the 215gr SWC in both my M57 and Blackhawk. I am using the Win231 powder.
