Anyone play with the 320gr. Penn bullet in their 44 handguns? Or, for that matter, any 320gr. bullet? I've got 500 of them and looking for a load for my PC 629-6, 8 3/8" barrel revolver.

If you bought it from Penn.. they will supply load data. Just call them.

This online book has loads for other heavy 44 bullets utilizing Unique / H110 / LilGun / 2400 which are my favorite powders
41. 44 BULLETS, POWDERS, PRIMERS, AND DIES

I bought the hardcopy of this book along with the ebook from the google bookstore - its a great book for anyone who loves 44s.

I loaded 18.0 gr. of N110 below the 320 gr. Penn bullet and above a Federal magnum primer, OAL 1.715". My Smith 629's cylinder isn't long enough to use the 2nd crimp groove, so I used the first. The load averaged 1267 fps at 15-20 ft. from the bench (probably close to 1300 fps at the muzzle). The brass was a little sticky coming out of the cylinder so I'll call this load maximum. Seems to shoot around 4" @ 100 yards. My hand hurts after shooting just a dozen of these, don't think I'll try Dirty Harry style with this load!
