44 Mag Ammo

What type of ammo is this? A Friend dropped over and gave me these for my Model 29 but I have no idea what they are?

R-P 44 Mag headstamp.

That particular type of ammo is Good Friend .44 S&W Magnum. Not sure of the grain weight of the bullet. But, the brand is rare and wonderful. Sincerely. bruce.

I vaguely remember having seen ammunition using bullets with this style of hollowpoint. IIRC, it was in .357 S&W Magnum ammo. Have spent quite a bit of time this morning looking to see if any current RP is loaded w/ such a hollow point. There is a slight similarity of this ammo w/ Golden Saber but it is not the same. Possibly these are component bullets that were hand loaded into RP cases. HTH. Sincerely. bruce.

To me they look like older Golden Sabers.
