44 mag Lee Hanloadr question

I recently got a a 44 mag Lee Handloader kit, I like it. Very old timey and fiscally responsible if you only shoot a certain cal a moderate amount of rounds.

The primer seating and then bullet seating seems to throw off the over all length of the bullet seating adjustment. What am I doing wrong? Loctite the threads on the bullet seater?
