My lab courier gave me 4 boxes of S&W 44 magnum 240Gr. JHP cartridges. He doesn't know how old they are, his neighbor was cleaning out his garage and getting rid of them. They're clean, not corroded at all and look ok. I'm not shooting them, waay too much bang, but will trade with a shooting friend for .45s.

Of course. I'm new and still fairly ignorant, but I haven't seen S&W rounds in any of the local gun stores.

Is it something old or not in production anymore? Did I just give away a big cash cow?:)

If they are the 20 round boxes, I had some mint ones up for sale a couple of months ago for about $25 per box and didn't get any interest. I saw Winchester 44 mag today for 32 bucks for a 50 round box so you are looking at around 60 cents per round. Some folks will tell you that the original S&W ammo is very collectible and that you will get rich off of it but I don't think it is, based on having bought it cheap recently. My 2 cents.

Thanks

Thanks- I wouldn't sell it anyway, they were given to me so it wouldn't be right to make money off of them. Trading ,however is ethical.
