Finally got a scope mounted and had a chance to try it out this weekend.
2X Burris in high warne maxima rings.
This is one well put together revolver. It's fit, finish and function are perfect.
Couldn't ask for more from a hardware standpoint, the trigger puller needs some work.
It wants to shoot small groups and I'd kinda like to too but it's been a long time since I've shot a scoped revolver. One nice thing about the scope is you know which direction you've pulled a shot when the trigger breaks, I guess I forgot that aspect about scoped handguns. I find it much harder to call my shots with the typical 4" guns I normally shoot, I can tell you I let one get away but I normally can't tell in what direction.
All in all I'm very happy with it and just wanted put up a positive review.
These loads are full power 260 gr Keith style from rimrock on top of 20 gr of 2400 at 25 yds
Let me know what you think

Nice set up Chris. It looks like you and the new gun have made good friends together already. I like the 2X scopes too. I have a 2X Loopy on my Magnum Hunter. You can still shoot standing without getting the wobbles. I see you've found the joy of the lead boogers on the comp.:p A heavy jacketed load at the end of the day should blow them out. Enjoy yourself.
( Oh yeah, nice dirty gun pic!!)

Nice shooting with a nice gun. I have one as well, and it is a shooter. Changed the optic out with a Sig Romeo red dot. Funny thing is, I bought it as a deer gun, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, but have never taken a deer with it. I always seem to grab one of my other revolvers when actually heading out hunting. May have to fix that this year...:)

Mine came very close to getting a matchdot.
That will be new ground for me.
Have you tried it a 100yds?
I'm very curious has to the distance the dot sights are good for. I usually take a gun for a few walks in November but my desire to hunt is about over.
I plan on using this for load development and long range plinking.
I'm pretty sure you sent me an uncle mikes rig for this type of gun, years ago.

When it comes to longer ranges, dot size matters, as does your basic eyesight. I have pretty bad astigmatism in my dominant eye, and so even small 2moa dots look large and star patterned at 100 yards. Useable, but not sharp and precise. I can usually keep 6 on a paper dinner plate at 100 yards with a dot that works well with my eyesight from a solid bench. These days I generally keep my shots at deer about 65 yards and under, unless I have a solid rest & shot, or I am using my scope sighted Contenders. I would spend a little more time with the scope you have. Eventually you get used to the increased visual shaking, forcing yourself to get steadier, while providing a sharper and more detailed sight picture helpful for 100 yard precision. I should add that I have seen guys with sharp eyesight do some amazing things with red dots past 100 yards. Off the top of my head, I run about a dozen various guns with red dots. I have an Ultra Dot / Matchdot on a Redhawk that has worked well for many years.
