44 Magnum Turns 44!

This Model 29-2, S270347, was shipped on February 24, 1966 to Kiefaber Company in Dayton, Ohio and will turn 44 in about three weeks. As with many Model 29s and 57s in this serial number range, this revolver has the large SMITH & WESSON rollmarked on the side of the barrel. As can be seen in the second photo, the rollmarking of 44 MAGNUM is like that seen on all 44 Magnums.

Since Curtis has said that he is only about 5' tall, Doc had them specially made to fit Curtis's rather tiny thumb.

It is a beautiful gun, and I know it made Curtis's day/week/month to see it right now. Hang in there buddy.

Curtis...some stocks were just "made that way". I have seen several pairs like these over the years.

I have a 27-2 mfg. '73 and I don't see any difference in the Smith & Wesson roll stamp including the ampersand. Was the larger S&W roll stamp you are speaking of only applicable to the .44 Mags?
