The more I shoot mine, the more I like it. 300 rounds downrange.

Below: 6 shot group at 20 yards, forearms rested. 2.00" group. Load is 255 grain SWC w/gas check going 1045fps. (8.5 grains of Power Pistol.) This is over 600 ft/lbs of energy, in a package that weighs only a bit more than a 1911 Govt model. Judging from the recoil though, I wouldn't have guessed at this level of power--the revolver is docile.

I now know what "the deal" is with .44 specials. They are accurate, powerful, and downright pleasant to shoot.

I really enjoy the .44sp in the Bisley version, I have yet to try any 'real' loads in it so far, just cowboy level stuff and some overpriced DT 200 gr ammo.
It does have the accuracy.

I have a Bisley 45/8s and it is one of the most accurate 44s I own whether S&W or Ruger. My favorite load is the same as yours only 8.0 grains Power Pistol.

I have three of them and a Lipseys Vaquero in the .44 Special. Ruger really should tout them as target revolvers! Another thumbs up for Power Pistol in the Special.

I had a Bisley 4 5/8". It was a beautiful gun, and a great shooter. One day I went to the range and let my grandson shoot it. Like I said, I had one......

Been a big fan of the 44 Special for many years. Had a lot of them slip through my fingers. Only one I have now is a 2nd Model HE in 6 and 1/2 BL. It is not going anywhere.
