If you have a letter, what was the ship date and destination? Fine looking 3rd 44!

Request for the letter was sent recently. Will let you know when I get it.
Is that gun correctly called a .44 Military or did that name only apply to the short action model? Whatever the case, that’s a beauty. Thanks for showing us that one.

SCSW 5TH shows it as:
.44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model (Postwar-Transitional) (1926 Model .44 Military)

I think the post war transitional guns are a really neat period where the guns have all the charm of the prewar era such as the long action hammer throw. Plus it has the benefit of the newer hammer block design.
My only beef on the older guns is the half-moon front sight. I wish S&W went to ramped front sights earlier than they did in their manufacturing history for the military models. Another great older sight is the US pocket sight which puts a square face notch on the top of the half-moon.
