442 grip safety?

Yeah that what I thought too. I was at a gun show over the weekend and saw an old j frame in a case. I looked at it, it was marked 442-2. So I thought it must be a newer "Classic". It also had the newer diamond Magnas.
But the grip safety just didn't match up. It was definitely an airweight so not a model 40. It was is great shape and the guy was asking $400 for it.
Anyone seen one of these?

If so, it was probably a mis-stamped model 42 Classic from a few years back.

Thanks Alan, I think that's it. I hadn't thought about a mis-stamp on a modern gun. I guess I'm not familiar with all the "Classics",
I didn't realise they brought back the grip safety. I have been looking for a 442, but at $400 I might just go this route as that's what dealers get around here for 442s.
