.45 ACP to LC

The 45 Colt gun can be set up for ACP pretty easily but I'm not sure the reverse is true. The rear of your barrel may need adjustment to allow more room for the longer cartridge as well as the longer cylinder. It's doable but I'm not sure it's a kitchen table job unless you're a gunsmith with experience in the area(actually the conversion either way would require a gunsmith in my case!).

Thanks for you all taking the time to give me your Valued Opinions!! I will do just that of trading for a .45 LC.

I like dual chambered revolvers.

This 'off brand' started life as a 7 1/2" & now, more to my likin' is a 4 3/4" .45 Long Colt & .45 ACP.

There was a 1980s Gun Digest article by Ed Harris on a 1917 .45-.45 convertible. He took a Highway Patrolman cylinder, the same length as the .45 ACP cylinder, fitted and rechambered .45 Colt. He turned a little step on the rear of the cylinder to clear the cylinder stop lug. As Elmer Keith said of converting a .455 to .45 Colt, you would have to select your bullet to fit the short cylinder. I think a typical factory load would just clear.
