Was a oversized baseplate or plastic filler ever designed or sold for shooters to use 4506 8 round magazines in smaller 4516 compact pistols? I know there were over sized base plates / gap fillers marketed for full size 4006 mags for use in slightly smaller 4053's.

If these were never made I wonder if a person could 3D print something along those lines.

I can say that I have never seen one and I do know what you're describing. I believe the closest thing I've seen is a fat bottom piece on a longer 10-round magazine that Pro-Mag used to make or possibly still does. (But it must be noted that Pro-Mag is junk and not to be trusted)

I suppose you could 3-D print something like that... not sure how much demand there would be. A longer mag in a compact pistol seems to work just fine without it.

Oh I seriously doubt there is any appreciable market for this kind of dingus, I was just wondering if one had had ever been produced or if some enterprising person 3D printing parts had considered mocking one up just for ergonomics and aesthetic looks.

When I see our forums artisans milling slides to produce fantastic new looks for 3rd Gen semi's, I have to think some tinkerer will crank one out just 'cause. :D

The 7 round 4516 mags are available but getting pricey. I would like to find some full size 8 round mags for my 4516. But the 4506 mags are cost prohibitive. I can live with 1 round less for the price difference.
