It sounds fine, a light to moderate load. That bullet at 1100-1200 fps would be in Ruger territory :)

No need to baby that revolver jt3.

You can shoot any 45 colt ammo in it. The limitation is your comfort level and to that end I suggest a proper fitting set of grips that fit YOUR hand.

Some specialty ammo is labeled RUGER ONLY, so believe it and don't use THAT (Buffalo Bore, Core-Bon) ammo, but otherwise you're OK.

Try some 255g cast SWC/RNFP @ 900fps and see what you think. Enough power to end anything that breathes, not harsh on the recoil.

Georgia Arms is pretty good ammo. I have never had any issues with the several thousand rounds I've fired over the last fifteen years. If it is standard pressure ammo (not marked +P) 45 Colt, and your gun is marked the same, then you'll have no problems.

There was another thread in the last few days about +P stuff in a Mountain Gun. Personally, I don't shoot the heavy stuff in my 625 MG, but some other guys do. Choosing my words carefully here... it is probably safe but will accelerate wear.

ETA: Snapping Twig hit the nail on the head. A heavy bullet at 900 fps will work on most anything you run across. Why go heavy and make the blast and recoil uncomfortable?
