I have and older 4506 no dashes,and the fring pln does not seeming to strike the primer hard enough.has anybody every had this problem with the 4506. Maybe 8000 round count.

Make sure you have decent ammunition and if thats not your problem.
Check the mainspring, if its been cut even 1 coil it probably needs replacing, I think that gun needs a 10.5-11 lbs D/A press to be reliable.
Make sure it is empty, with an empty mag in the gun, again make sure the chamber is empty, press the trigger, if it make a dull sound and not a clean sounding twang, then the firing pin / channel/spring is probably full of crud,( technical term), and slowing or blocking the pin..
If neither of those then, it might be a safety lever, in which case, unless you know how to fix it, and have the part, the gun needs to go to S/W or a gunsmith, Good luck, Bob
Actually you might want to check the firing pin first, alot of times, that alone fixes the problem,even if the mainspring is weak.
