Hello S&w fans. I’ve lurked around this forum for a while now and decided to post my questions.
I recently acquired a 2 4513tsw 1 Prerail 6rd and with the rail 7rd great guns just a couple questions.
1) I took apart the 4513tsw pre-rail and the machining is rough . I’m talking slide stop and safety selector had machining marks. On the newer tsw 45 it’s clean machining no burrs . Is this normal or affect function ? I heard on on the web that S&w started to use CNC machining after the prerail. Early 2000
2)when I rack one in the pipe and eject the magazine the next round falls out not the one in the pipe . What causes this?
2 1/2) What causes the slide not fully going into battery to feed the next round ?
3) I was firing 4513tsw prerail yesterday and I rapid fired and a Unfired round had ejected along with the spent brass .
What causes this ? Magazine spring already changed .
I did clean the magazines they were a bit dirty from firing .
4) Can I use a 4516 recoil rod&spring in the tsw 4513tsw prerail and railed variants ?
5) I would like to know more about the delayed locking and unlocking on the 3rd gen series of pistols and how to know if it’s operation is abnormal ?
6) Can I attach a railed 4513tsw 7rd slide on the 4513tsw 6rd pre-rail receiver ?
Same question but for the barrel ?
What the correct Magazine orientation for the 4513tsw 6rd prerail.
7) fitting a barrel S&w what needs to be checked ? I have a threaded barrel I need to install . The last thing I wanna do is send it off to the factory. I either wanna do it my self or someone local to me . For me I just need to understand the operation of the gun .
I’m mechanically inclined so this won’t be a huge stepping stone but would like a direction to move forward with the project .
Also the briley bushing is inroute .
All the pc super 45s I’ve seen operate alomost like a 1911 .
In order for me to install the threaded barrel I need the briley bushing .
From my research I know 3rd gen autos threaded barrels can me achieved with a longer barrel and a briley bushing and some machine to the barrel and the slide bushing ..
Thank you all for hearing me out and thank you for all in advanced .I will add more photos .
I love these older smiths .
Thanks
