I justb acquired a 457d that is e single strike .I understand that early ones wese capable of double strike .Is it posable to change the function from single to double strike by changing parts and not doing any machine work to the farame .I put the 457 slide on my 4516 and it functions as a 45616 should so i think the changes must be in the frame of the 457d
but i din't have a clue as to what changes to make..

Yes, very easy.

You will need a TDA (DA/SA) trigger and hammer (spurless).

Grind the single action notch off the hammer, then install the trigger and hammer.

Done. Second strike DA.
