I had a few hours this afternoon... I probably should have been doing some honey dos, but I saw a great post (I think here) about a guy who put his cylinders in an ultra sonic with Simple Green. I've been dying to try it since I saw it.
I used the Simple Green undiluted in a beaker, I filled the ultra sonic with water, and set the beaker in the water. It even got the dried up carbon caked on the bottom of the beaker left over from previous cleanings.
I am reporting it works GREAT. That, whatever, that blackens the cylinder face just wiped off. No lead cloth, no scrubbing... a water rinse some compressed air and a re-lube... simple as pi. My only concern is the screw that holds the crane on had some red stuff on it (no way it was red Loctite, because I removed the screw without heat). She looks good as new so I have to go soil her again. I love shooting this gun.
