5.56 NATO complete upper

Can anyone tell me how to order a M&P15 5.56 (Nato round) complete upper. I bought two M&P15 stripped lowers planning on building two complete guns with reasonably priced quality parts as they became available. After a year one gun is finished with another finished lower sitting around. I want to quit messin' around and just buy an S&W M&P15 upper in 5.56, not the Russian round, and finish my second gun before too long. Any advise is appreciated. Also, I'm an LEO so if that helps with ordering, that's great.

There's a bunch of suppliers and most advertise in Shotgun News with order numbers and websites listed.
I have been looking at a mid length upper from DelTon.

Midway USA sells uppers. DPMS in Minnesota makes and sells them. Rock River Arms and Bushmaster are other makers.

Shotgun News is available on a lot of news stands.
You might also check out AR15 sites for reports of which uppers work best before buying.

The stats on that one said 5.45x39 That must have been the russian one the OP mentioned. I didn't see a 5.56 on the S&W site at all.

+1 for Del-Ton. I got one from them last year and have another on the way.

ANY M16 or standard pin AR15 upper will work. All the M16 specific parts are in the lower receiver. (I have M16A1 and M16A2 uppers sitting here.)

If you specifically want a S&W upper receiver and barrel for some reason it looks like a quest 'cuz I don't see them separately. And $800 is an obscene price for an upper as you can get complete rifles for that price if you look around a little.
