I was just browsing my LGS website looking at a 5" 2.0 9mm in FDE, and noticed that they now offer a 5" 2.0 9mm pro in Black with no safety. Needless to say, I ordered it immediately. Anyone know when this became available? It wasn't on my LGS' website a week ago. S&W sku is 11820.

I searched S&W's website for that SKU and could only find an image.

This pistol (11820) definitely interests me too!
S&W seems to be 'challenged' when it comes to their website and especially their web-store!
I'm not a fan of trying to order anything from them directly (parts, merchandise, etc.) and am very happy my LGS can take care of the 'important' items from them! I going to have my LGS look into that too - thanks!

I was at a LGS last week and they had something like it - M&P 9 PRO.
I think the one I saw was an older model. I held it in my hand and asked a few questions. It had only the front FO sight and the grip texture was in-between the 1.0 and 2.0 with smooth horizontal lines on the side (for style?). It was definitely nice, but I liked the 2.0 trigger better, and don't mind the FDE color. But if I can get the one the OP is talking about, I just might 'pull that trigger'!

If I can get that one, I'll either swap the FO lite pipes (I prefer a red front sight and green in the rear) or I'll put TRUGLOW TFX night sights on it.

Okay, I just searched the S&W website again and found more info.
I think I prefer this one over the FDE version!
Sometimes I am 'challenged' too!

I like the thumb safety option on the m&p line . Lets me step it up with an apex trigger kit to function more like my tuned up lw comander . I carry an older 4.25 40 with a thumb safety & apex fss trigger kit now .

Good luck with your black 2.0

Actually, I wasn't holding out for black, I was deciding to go 'long-slide', after just getting the 3.6" Compact, and probably would have gotten the FDE. But living in NJ, where we are only trusted to defend our family with 10 rounds, I have to contend with S&W's quirky availability of 10-round models: the 2.0 Compact 3.6" only comes with 15-round mags - which the LGS has to 'pin' down to 10-rounds (the 2.0 Compact 4" can be ordered with the 10-round mags!).

I already have 10-round full-size M&P mags to go with my SUB-2000, which I would have used in the FDE 5" M&P. But I really do like the black and I like the adjustable rear sight on this model (11820), AND it will be my 1st Performance Center pistol.
So it's a WIN!

Finally got to pick it up yesterday after work. Unfortunately, I won't get to shoot it for a couple weeks. A couple of very minor gripes...

The gun came from the factory with a couple of dings on the slide. Nothing major, but you can see them in the pic. I personally don't care, as this gun is going to get shot a lot. Just thought I'd mention it, as some people would be livid if it showed up with obvious dings.

My main gripe is the trigger. I was really looking forward to see what they would do with it, since it is advertised as lightly tuned. This is my 3rd 2.0 and it has, by far, the worst trigger of the 3. I am a more than a little disappointed about that.

My 4.25 was very smooth and fairly crisp (for an M&P) out of the box. My 3.6 was a touch gritty, but still fairly crisp.
This Pro model is Glock-mushy and very, very gritty. To be quite honest, it's one of the cheapest feeling striker-fired triggers I've ever felt. I'm probably just gonna go ahead and throw an Apex setup in it.

Anyway, just wanted to show it to you guys. I'm still gonna shoot it a whole, whole bunch.

I went to my LGS and saw mine today. Can't take it home til the Chief of Police in my town signs/renews my permits for another 90 days (only one every 30 days here in NJ - this will be number 4), so I'll probably be picking it up within the next week.
Sorry I didn't think to take a pic of it, but I will soon.

I like it! The trigger on mine had a bit of pre-travel, but felt pretty smooth and had a nice short reset.
I'm looking forward to this pistol!

Pics and range-report to follow.

Awesome. I love my FDE. Would love to have this but I am content.

By the way, has anyone found a holster for this darn thing yet? Id love to find a holster OWB that would accommodate a CT laser.

I have never been impressed by the 2.0 triggers. They are ok most of the time, but APEX and 1911's have spoiled me.

Main thing is those sights are just nasty looking.

I agree, the sights are just plain hideous. I was planning on changing them anyway since I don't care for fiber optic sights.

I prefer green in the rear and red in the front. But having held mine the other day, it didn't seem as bad as I was expecting.

I like that the rear sight is adjustable, so I'm going to shoot mine and keep the sights stock until I've had time to think about it for a while.

I put TRUGLO TFX Pro's on my 2.0 Compact 3.6" and REALLY like them! I may do that to this pistol, but the 'jury' is going to get some time to 'deliberate' on this before a decision is made!

Purchased one on Tues and am waiting on delivery. Should be here today or tomorrow. Looking forward to shooting the 5" frame. I think I might be the only person that somewhat likes the sights. I especially like the green front.
