Morning, I just picked up a 38 caliber 5 screw pistol from an old horse trader this morning,
looks like a Model 15 but is not marked (pre)?..I cant post pics yet,(Ca state has custody)

Anyhow the S/N is K 164560 can someone tell me if it's older than me? Any help dating this neat old pistol would be appreciated.. Jim

Eleven (11 years older than the pistol) We seem to Belong together.. Heh,heh.. Regards

I think collecting guns that are 11 years younger than you are will be easier than collecting those made in '41.

Smith's made in 1941 are difficult to find, and when you can find one, it is$$$$$$$$$$. I know, that's my birth year, and I only have gotten one so far. (But lots from other years).

I know what you mean. I've pretty much decided that I don't really need a birth year gun, so my criteria is that they just have to be older than I am.

I do have about 5 guns that don't meet the above, but they are all "working" guns. My carry gun (Pre-37), my bullseye gun (Benelli), a .22 plinker (Walther G22), a M1 Garand (just because) and a Free Pistol (Hammerli M162, which I'm going to sell)
