5 Star speed loaders?

I have several 5Stars. They are great quality and some of the best speed loaders ive ever used and The corresponding loading blocks are great for the range. However I don't use them for competition because I prefer safarilands Comp III

Safariland

I prefer Safariland Speedloaders. No knob to turn when loading.

As others have said - great quality, but really not suitable (read that: fast enough) for competition, unless you have no other choice. I use one to initially charge the gun when I'm on the line in IDPA. After the start signal, it's all Safariland Comp III's.

I use the for cc, great quality. They never accidentally release in my pocket.

Unless you treat IDPA as practice for reality in which case, shoot what you carry, including the speedloaders.

I love mine and highly recommend them.

PS yes I do use mine in competition, after all I better know how to run them if I need them.

I just ordered two, Safari does not make a 686+ model.

No, but Speed Beez does and the benefit - just as with the Safarilands - is that these eliminate the double motion to use. No insert then twist. Just insert.

BaaBaa is correct - if you use IDPA as practice for real life, Comp III's may not be suitable. But even the gravity reliant Comp I's are faster than insert & twist type loaders.

Moon clips are the ultimate loaders for revolvers.
