500 LB BLUEFIN TUNA SELLS FOR $1.7 MILLION IN TOKYO

In japan, Bluefin tuna is believed to increase reflexes, depth perception and basic motor skills. That is why it commands such a high price. They serve it for lunch at all their driving schools but from my experience I would venture to say it's a waste of money.

Being at the top of the food chain it probably contains carcinogens of large portions. Could be more dangerous than a 32 oz. Soda in NYC.

I love rich folks. They pay darn good money for the strangest stuff.

You guys do realize that its a restaurant that buys it not an individual for their own consumption. Most likely its a chain restaurant or a expansive one.

The fish will be cut for sushi, sushimi and other food. When you order that particular sushi you get one roll with about 6-12 bite size pieces which will be more expansive then a roll made from a different fish or sea creature. Not all of the fish will go to sushi, some parts go into soup and other dishes.
Paying a lot for high grade sushi or fish is no different then paying more for certain things cuts of steak.

I have a 30-lb gaspergou that I'm willing to trade for a nice Model 57 --
will ship to your FFL (friendly fish legation) at my cost -- first "I'll take it" wins a tasty Cajun fish.
