500 mag over,under rings?

I have the 8 3/8 500 mag. I was wondering if there was a way to mount a scope and still be able to use the hard sites.

I don't believe so. If you want a scope, I recommend using the Weigand stainless steel mount (not the aluminum mount) and four rings - you'll need it to keep the scope from jumping around (or off) under recoil. Come to think of it, you have to remove the rear sight to mount the scope base, so there won't be any rear sight to use!

No one makes a see through ring that will hold up to the recoil. Warne does make a Maxima base that has an integral front sight that allows you to use your rear sight with it. But.....you have to use quick release rings in order to be able to use the sights.

i used the supplied base that came with my performance center 500 also used two rings to mount the scope...i hunt with it as well as range work...has held up just fine for about 4 years now and my rear sight is still on
