Between family emergency problems for the seller and car problems for me with Thanksgiving thrown in, it took a while to complete this deal. Mid '70s no dash 57 in Nickel." 3-T's w/o rear and and rr front. Very little use. Wood case with the ppwk and tools. The seller's father purchased the gun new. Even kept the box label from the cardboard box (didn't save box). Paid the asking of $1000, which everybody here told me was fair. Off to the range tomorrow for a test fire.

P.S. Finally got to the range yesterday. Gun has one of the smoothest DA triggers I have experienced. Don't have a gauge but am guessing 9-10 lbs. and smooth as a baby's behind. SA equally nice. Didn't shoot for groups but just a first test drive. Very happy with the gun and the deal.

A thousand dollars for that is way more than fair, for you anyway. I sold a 6 inch nickel one without the box/tools four or five years ago for $1k.

Dang that's nice. What you paid is more than nice, you robbed the guy. A blued M57 would be worth more than you paid. FYI, all M57's are 3T with the red insert and white outline, it was a premium revolver comparable to the M29; the only difference between the two is the bore size.
That is way more than fair! I’m looking for a 3 inch Model 57 to complete my set! Nice pick up
Unless you know of one special ordered that way, 3" barrel on the M57 wasn't offered, only 4", 6" and 8-3/8".

According to SCSW, around 200 M657's were made with a round butt and 3" barrel in 1998.

I agree, you got a super deal on that Model 57! I paid $1200 for my minty nickel revolver (ca. 1980) a couple of years ago, and that was without the presentation case and goodies. Congratulations, that was a nice pickup.
