Have 5906 with adjustable sights. The white dot rear are kind of grey and dull. Is there a method to clean up the dots without harming the orginal dots.

Drop a drop of fresh enamel paint into them with a toothpick. I use Testor's model paint, you can even use a different color if you like, yellow & bright green are both really visible. The scientist types say bright green is the most visible to the human eye. That works for the older ones that the dots are recessed, I saw a thread a while back that said the newer white dot sights were just on a flat surface. You can look beforehand to be sure.

The scientist types also say that red and green look the most vivid when they're next to each other (complimentary colors, like blue/orange and yellow/purple), so I have seen it done where the front sight is green, and rear sights are red. Just a thought, adding to what Broker50 said.

Use a Q-tip and a bit of rubbing alcohol...this helped mine out some.

I may also decide to repaint them...I have a small bottle of white appliance touch-up paint that I think would work well.

+1 on the alcohol and Q-tip method. Worked fine for me. I have not tried to repaint them. I could never stay inside the lines as a kid and I doubt I could now.
